This AWHONN Perinatal Course is an 8 week course comprised of classroom and clinical experience taught onsite at your facility. The program is structured to train or cross-train your nurses to care for patients in a wide range of clinical situations - from an uncomplicated birth to the most complex/high risk situations. We offer 57.3 CNE contact hours, which includes Fetal Heart Monitoring. We've taken the guesswork out of developing or updating your current education program, saving you time and money. As you know, when you provide a formal consistent education program, the results are apparent in more satisfied and safer patient care outcomes.

The AWHONN Perinatal Education and Orientation Program is the standard of excellence in Obstetrical Nursing, offering uniformly consistent, evidence-based practice, as well as up to date information in interpretation and documentation for your employees. Our enhanced and innovative approach to the AWHONN program utilizes several different teaching methods. We supply a range of hands on models for practicing Leopold’s maneuvers, assessment of dilation and effacement, FSE placement and much more. These are pertinent teaching methods proven to increase information retention of both new as well as seasoned nursing staff. Our program is built to attract nurses from all areas and specialties who are searching for a supportive transition into Labor and Delivery. Throughout the program our instructors encourage the support of these nurses toward the facility which has generously provided this program. Our recommendation is to offer these nurse interns a contract with your facility which serves as an additional retention tool.
