Associate of Science in Spa
Management
Description
This program
provides instruction in how to effectively run, manage, and direct all
operations involved in a spa establishment. This includes but is not
limited to human resources, retailing, customer service, accounting, and
marketing. In addition to the business aspects, graduates will be
trained in skin care, aromatherapy, spa treatments and cosmetics and
color theory to effectively serve as role models and team leaders for
their employees. The Associate of Science Degree Program is designed to
prepare students for career opportunities in the spa and spa related
fields and includes a general education component which complements the
comprehensive skills. A degree will be awarded upon successful
completion of this program.
Objectives
This program
prepares students for entry level positions in the spa industry with
progression to middle and senior level management. This program will
provide students with the basic business management skills that are
necessary in order to manage a professional establishment. Emphasis will
be placed on areas applicable to the spa industry. A degree will provide
the completive edge necessary to complete in this growing industry.
Prerequisites
- Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Pass the entrance examination
Course Outline
To receive an
Associates of Science degree in Spa Management, students must complete
33.0 credit hours in their major and 27.0 credit hours in the General
Education courses for a total of 60.0 credit hours. This degree program
can be completed in 20 months for both day and evening students.
